Itinerary
Welcome on board early in the morning and start cruising towards to down south to Kachikhali. Arrive at Kochikhali forest station late in the afternoon and anchor for an overnight stay. If time permits, the accompanying guide will offer activities like a short walk in and around Tiger Point or a boat trip inside narrow creeks.
Before sunrise, we will invite you to explore the narrow creeks aboard a wooden rowboat, allowing a close look at the unique mangrove fauna and flora. After breakfast on board, explore in and around Dimer Char (Egg Island). Lunch on board and travel to Katka. In the evening, depending on the tide schedule, the boat will begin the return journey with the high tide and cruise for about 4 hours; the Boat will stop in front of a forest patrol post named Tambulbunia.
A small boat trip will be arranged early in the morning. Cruise through Herbaria Bherir Khal depends on the tide situation. Otherwise, the Boat will follow a regular route cruise back to Khulna. On the way, you will enjoy a peaceful cruise through the creeks of the mangrove forest. Upon arrival at Khulna in the evening, approach to Dhaka by respective transport. End of the tour.

Essentials include a torch or flashlight, binoculars, a camera with extra batteries, mosquito repellent, sun protection (hats, lotions, and shades), comfortable walking shoes that won’t slip, full-sleeved clothes for evenings and cool weather (dark colors are better for blending in), warm clothes for winter, a raincoat or umbrella, any personal medication, reading material, and board games.
You will experience 60% more of the Sundarbans area, spend 3 full days exploring instead of just 1 day, and enjoy comfortable accommodation on a houseboat with Western toilets, moving to different locations each day. In India, you will stay in village huts and take day trips on engine boats.
In Bangladesh, you can hike hidden forests, relax on sandy beaches, watch wildlife from watchtowers, explore quiet canals in silent wooden rowboats for better wildlife encounters, and visit wildlife sanctuaries up close. India’s options are typically limited to eco-parks and zoos.
Learn about the reserve before your visit. Dress in dark colors to blend in and minimize disturbance to wildlife. Always have guides or forest guards with you for safety. Use boats whenever possible, and minimize walking in the forest. Stop engines while observing wildlife and taking photos. Walk quietly, stay in designated areas, and don’t litter or harm plants and animals. Respect other visitors and locals. Support conservation efforts. Leave only footprints, take only photos, and leave no graffiti.
